NEW FOR 2017 --> PAYMENT PLAN OPTION

St. Catharines Minor Baseball Association Inc. (SCMBA) is pleased to be able to offer our families a new option when paying for registration this year. Families may still choose to pay the entire amount at registration, or they may opt to use our payment plan. If choosing the payment plan, families will be asked to pay $50.00 at time of registration, and the remaining amount will be divided into three (3) equal payments. The payment schedule will be:

  1. March 1, 2017
  2. April 1, 2017
  3. May 1, 2017

* If you are registering after one or more of the above dates has past, then the remaining amount will be divided by the number of payment dates remaining.

Families making use of the payment plan, should print off their checkout page which shows the equal payment amounts. The system will not automatically process the payments (you'll have to login & apply a payment), however, the system will only present the entire remaining amount. This discount will apply to the youngest child(ren).

* If your family qualifies for this discount, please contact our Registrar PRIOR TO REGISTERING, and we will instruct you on how to get your discount & provide you with the code that is required during the registration process.

WAITING LIST

Registrations will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. As divisions reach capacity, a waiting list will be created. Should there be enough players on the waiting list (in a particular division) to allow the creation of another team, SCMBA will strive to create another team (dependent on available resources).

* When registering onto the Waiting List, you will NOT be required to pay the registration fee. Only if your child is placed onto a team will you be charged for registration.

ALL-STAR (REP) PREMIUM FEE

All players that will be participating on one of the SCMBA All-star (rep) teams will be assessed an additional "All-star (rep) Premium Fee", in addition to their base registration fee. This premium helps to cover some of the additional expenses incurred with running these all-star teams. This deadline for paying this fee will be May.31, 2017. A late fee of $25.00 will be charged to all premiums not received by this deadline.

The All-star Premium fee for 2017 will be $270.00.

SELECT PREMIUM FEE

SCMBA is currently working towards the establishment of a Select Program. Select Teams may be established in any of the Rookie, Mosquito, Peewee, Bantam, & Midget divisions. Please stay tuned for more details as we work on this exciting initiative.

All players that will be participating on one of the SCMBA Select (house league) teams will be assessed an additional "Select Premium Fee", in addition to their base registration fee. This premium helps to cover some of the additional expenses incurred with running these select teams. The deadline for paying this fee will be June.31, 2017. A late fee of $25.00 will be charged to all premiums not received by this deadline.

The Select Premium fee for 2017 will be $TBD.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

SCMBA strives to keep our programs affordable, but we realize that some of our families may require some financial assistance to help cover the registration and/or equipment expenses. If your family does require some financial assistance, please use the following links to investigate which one of the programs best suits your family's needs.

  1. Canadian Tire Jump Start Program
  2. Niagara ProKids Program
  3. KidSport Niagara

* SCMBA does not want to see any child be unable to play due to financial constraints. If you have investigated the above programs, and are not eligible for any of them, but still require financial assistance, please contact our Registrar so we may work with you to find a solution for your particular situation.

PLAYER RELEASE INFORMATION

Baseball Ontario regulates the movement of all-star (rep) players between OBA Associations.

If your child...

  1. Was NOT OBA rostered on one of SCMBA's all-star (rep) teams last season, AND
  2. Your family resides OUTSIDE of the City of St.Catharines, AND
  3. Your Local Association will be hosting an all-star (rep) team in your child's division this year...

If your child meets all 3 criteria, you will likely require an official PLAYER RELEASE from your Local Association. Please contact our All-star Director immediately to verify the requirement of a player release for your child, and to discuss the process involved.

If your family resides IN the City of St.Catharines, and you are wanting to tryout/play for an all-star (rep) team in another Association, you will require a PLAYER RELEASE from SCMBA.

All release requests must be received in writing before April 1st (for the current season), or after September 1st (for the following season), and must include the reason the player is seeking the release. SCMBA is under no obligation to grant player releases, & will evaluate each request on its own merits.

All release requests should be directed to our Registrar.

* House League players do not require a player release to play in the House League division of another OBA Association, but they must return to SCMBA in the future, or request & obtain a player release should they wish to tryout/play for an all-star (rep) team other than St.Catharines.
